Staff can create bulk hold requests in Polaris/Leap to place a single patron on hold for multiple titles. This can be used for placing a patron on hold for a series of titles or a best seller list.

  1. Create a bibliographic record set that contains the titles to be placed on hold.  Make not of the Record Set ID (Alternatively, if the titles can be retrieved in a single search in the find tool, this step can be skipped).

  2. Open the patron's account and create a new hold
    • Client: Select the place hold button, select Tools -- Place Hold, or press CTRL+H
    • Leap: Select the Holds tab and click Multiple Holds. On most displays, it will be located under the "More" button
  3. In the New Hold Request workform, open the Find Tool
  4. Change the type of search to Record Set ID and search for the Record Set ID created in Step 1. (If not using a record set, build a search as normal)

  5. In the search results, select all of the titles to be placed on hold
    • CTRL+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple titles.
  6. Once all titles are selected:
    • Client: Press Enter
    • Leap: Select Open
  7. Save the hold request
    • Client: Click the Save button or press CTRL+S
    • Leap: Click the green Place Hold button.
