When creating the Windows RemoteApp connection, it only establishes the connection for the specific Windows account / workstation. This works well for Technical Services staff or generic Windows logins that always use the same machines, but can be problematic for individual Windows profiles that share workstations or use multiple workstations.
Previously with the Full RDP, the shortcut to the RDP connection could be saved on the global desktop and made available to all users of that machine. This approach does not work with the RemoteApp connection. There are however, 2 options to help alleviate this approach
Option 1:
Instead of using the wcx configuration file, use a shortcut from RDweb
- Navigate to https://pinnacle-gw.polarislibrary.com/rdweb
- Log in using the workstation's TS information.
- Download the Polaris application and make that available to other staff.
Option 2:
With GPO, place the wcx file (the "installer") on the user's desktop so that they can quickly add the RemoteApp to any PC they are using.
Staff will need to be familiar with their Terminal Server login information.
