Installing ScrewDrivers for Polaris Printing

With our Innovative contract, we have access to the ScrewDrivers software that helps facilitate printing in a Remote Desktop environment. Any workstation using the Polaris staff client can have ScrewDrivers installed on it.

Downloading and Installing ScrewDrivers

ScrewDrivers can be downloaded from Tricerat's website.

Once downloaded, extract the files and install the applications following the computer's installation instructions.

Using ScrewDrivers

Once the application has been installed, the program will appear in the Start Menu as "Client Control Panel." To open it, locate the Tricerat folder in the Start Menu and select Client Control Panel.

In the ScrewDrivers application, navigate to the "Printers" tab and select the printers that should be accessible through the staff client.

Once ScrewDrivers is installed on the machine, the Polaris client should follow any configuration settings made in Windows. However, if changes are made to the printing settings in Windows, you'll need to select Query Printers from the General tab before logging into the Polaris Terminal Server.

Once ScrewDrivers is installed on a workstation, it's possible that staff may see duplicate printer entries in the Polaris client since the printer is being loaded from both Windows and ScrewDrivers. To remove the duplicate (non-ScrewDrivers) printers, submit a ticket with the Polaris Terminal Server number (PIN-TS###).  Before hiding the Windows printers, ScrewDrivers should be installed on every machine that this user plans to print from.
