All members of the Pinnacle Library Cooperative have access to the Pinnacle Data Studio - a web-based collection analysis tool that allows staff to run weeding and other common collection development reports.

To Access the Pinnacle Data studio, visit http://pinnaclelibraries.org/collectionstudio

Using the Data Studio tool, library staff can run a variety of reports:

  • Dead Items - Items that have not circulated recently
  • Grubby Items - Items that have checked out a certain number of times
  • Dead on Arrival - Relatively new items that have never checked out
  • Total Items - The aggregate number of records in the library's collection
  • Monthly Trends - How these reports have changed over time
  • Consortia Data - The status of Pinnacle libraries' collections as they compare with one another

For detailed instructions on using the tool, see the Instructions page.

Data is updated monthly, at the beginning of each month.

Adjusting the Report Parameters

The Dead Items and Grubby Items reports rely on parameters to determine when exactly something is considered "dead" or "grubby."  These parameters can be set per Branch/Stat Code combination.  By default, "dead" is set at 36 months and "grubby" is 100 checkouts, but these settings can be modified.

To review the current parameters, see this Google Sheet.  To make changes to these parameters, contact the ILS Manager.
