Libraries that do not have access to the ConsumerReports.org website can still retrieve ConsumerReports articles through the EBSCO database, Academic Search Elite.  Access to this database is included in the Illinois State Library's database package that all libraries have access to.

To Access Consumer Reports articles:

  1. Navigate to Academic Search Elite

  2. Log in using your library card
  3. In the search box, enter the desired search terms.
  4. Select Advanced Search
  5. Under Publications, search for "Consumer Reports".
    • From the results, select Consumer Reports, Consumer Reports Buying Guide and/or Consumer Reports on Health.
    • After selecting the publication(s), click Add to Search.
  6. Click Search.
  7. The search results will display articles from Consumer Reports related to the search terms provided.  These results can be filtered further using the facets along the top of the page.
    • For example, it may be helpful to change "All Time" to Past 12 Months or Past 5 Years.
  8. Once an article is identified, click "Access Options" and click PDF.
